Tasting Notes

Straw yellow. It fills the nose with a characteristic and considerably intense fruity bouquet. Fresh and pleasant on the palate, acidity and savouriness balance nicely, creating a brilliantly incisive closure.

Pairing

Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with delicate starters, pasta dishes with tomato sauce, risottos and rice timbales, finely sliced raw fish and fresh cheeses.

Falanghina del Sannio DOP “Janare” 2018 - La Guardiense: Why we like it

The "Janare" line by La Guardiense was created within the scope of a project to defend the autochthonous wines of Sannio, and is a range of selected wines aimed particularly at promoting Falanghina and Aglianico. An authentic attempt at zoning the Guardia Sanframondi territory, in the heart of the production zone, which focuses on enhancing the qualitative characteristics, linking them to the unrepeatable specificities of the cultivation locations. In the Sannio district, Janare are witches, mythical figures of country civilisation and culture which allude to the strong and indomitable character of the women of this land, capable of casting spells and fatal curses on their enemies. A tribute to preserve the memory of this old and seductive popular local tradition. Falanghina, in particular, is the product of careful selection in the vineyard and ageing in the cellar in steel tanks only, the ideal containers for maintaining all the natural fragrance. A white of great fragrance and freshness.
